Susan G. Komen for the Cure

This is perhaps one of the largest and most recognized organizations committed to providing breast cancer patients, survivors and families with information, education and support. The Susan Komen breast cancer organization provides comprehensive information on news and events related to breast cancer, grants programs available to survivors, family members and others in need of support, provides links to affiliates and more. You can read about other patient's survival stories and find inspiration, and donate to a worthy cause. The organization was formed when a woman named Nancy Brinker promised her sister, Susan Komen, a woman dying of breast cancer that she would do whatever it took to end breast cancer so no other woman had to suffer. This organization is famous for launching a global campaign to fight against breast cancer, and raise money for research and finding the cure for breast cancer. The Komen foundation includes a large network of survivors, families, activists, agencies and others all working to empower women with breast cancer. For 25 years the organization has worked tirelessly to find breast cancer.

American Cancer Society

The ACS is one of the largest non-profit organizations committed to providing families and patients with information on cancer. Included are educational programs anyone can attend to learn more about cancer, and even links to local support groups and activities patients can refer to. Women's Cancer Network

The WCN was developed by the GCF or Gynecologic Cancer Foundation. Its purpose is to provide patients and families with education and support for many cancers affecting women, including breast cancer. You can use the navigational links to the left to find a doctor in your area qualified to treat you, or to find information about clinical trials for women at risk for or with breast cancer. General information on cancer is also available for review, as are pamphlets for download.

National Breast Cancer Coalition NBCC

The NBCC is a small organization that works to provide advocacy for patients with breast cancer. If you want information on how you can help support others and become a patient advocate, this is a good place to begin our research.

The National Cancer Institute NCI
http://www.cancer.gov The government runs the NCI, a national organization providing the latest news and information on cancer, prevention, early detection of breast cancer and other cancers and more. Links are readily available to those interested in finding qualified doctors and other care providers to help them cope with their disease and treat them. One of the benefits offered by the NCI is Spanish lingual speakers, so staff members are readily available to help you with information and resources on breast cancer if you are not a native speaker.

The National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations or NABCO is one of the larger nonprofit organizations committed to providing educational information and resources for families coping with breast cancer specifically. There are over 400 other agencies that work with NABCO to provide support and information for patients with breast and related cancers. You can also learn if you qualify for federal, state or local help or support through this organization.
